An established Civil and Structural Consulting Engineering SME based in the Southern Suburbs is seeking to employ an Accounts Administrator to join our team on a One-Year Fixed-Term Contract with the potential to become permanent. This is a junior position with the prospect of being developed into that of a Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will report directly to the Accountant.

Skills and Aptitude Required: Minimum 3 years’ previous experience in an accounting-orientated administrative role.

Min Qualification: Matric with Accounting and Mathematics. Currently pursuing a qualification in Business, Economics, or Accounting is advantageous. Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word. Pastel experience is advantageous. Quick learner, ability to take initiative, good interpersonal, communication (written and spoken), and organizational skills. Strong reconciliation skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Debtors Processing Function. Debtors Account Recons. Debtors Age Analysis Reporting. Debt Collection. Creditors Processing in Pastel. Creditor Query Resolution. Management of Finance and Administrative Filing Systems – both electronic and hardcopy. Petty Cash, Typing of Letters and Reports for Directors as required.

Switchboard and Reception Relief Duties: Ad Hoc Administration Duties as Requested.
