Join the team at the Darwin Aviation Museum, one of the Northern Territory’s most iconic attractions. We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic museum assistant to support day-to-day operations, provide outstanding customer service, and help keep the museum looking its best.
About the Role:
As a museum assistant, you’ll be part of a small, supportive team that plays an essential role in delivering a great visitor experience. This is a hands-on position involving a mix of duties:
Key responsibilities:
Welcoming visitors and providing friendly customer service
Operating the museum shop (point of sale, restocking, answering questions)
Maintaining cleanliness throughout the museum (including exhibits, floors, and amenities)
Assisting with opening and closing procedures
Supporting events or group bookings when needed
What we’re looking for:
Great communication and interpersonal skills
A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in across different tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Previous experience in customer service, retail, or tourism is a plus
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required
