Our client is a global leader in packaging and sustainable manufacturing. As a result of significant investment and expansion, they have immediate vacancies at their very modern/automated plant in Sydney's inner west (Smithfield). These roles are 7-day shift work on a 4/4 roster.

Reporting to the Production Manager, your role is to support the Production Department to ensure that the company continues to produce and pack high-quality products safely and efficiently. As a Fitter Operator, you’ll ensure seamless operations by keeping their cutting-edge machinery in peak condition. Your responsibilities will include:

Operate and Troubleshoot: Operate and maintain high-tech equipment across various stages of beverage can production to produce high-quality products.

Preventative Maintenance: Conducting routine checks and scheduled maintenance to optimize machine performance.

Troubleshooting Expertise: Identifying mechanical issues and delivering precise, effective solutions.

Overhauls and Stock: Performing machinery overhauls and maintaining spare parts inventory.

Data Management: Accurately recording and updating production and maintenance logs.

Safety First: Upholding Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: (Apprentice trained) Mechanical Trade Certificate, Plant Mechanic, or similar.

Experience: Proven expertise in high-speed manufacturing or FMCG environments.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with PLCs, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision troubleshooting.

Operating Expertise: Experience working on production lines and operating complex FMCG machinery.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
