Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients across a range of employment law matters

• Negotiate on behalf of clients and draft legal documents, including workplace complaints, FWC applications, court documents, legal correspondences, Deeds of Settlement

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis

• Represent clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commissions, Australian and Queensland Human Rights Commissions

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in employment legislation

• Nurture client relationships and place value on people

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in employment law and industrial relations

• Admission in an appropriate Australian state jurisdiction

• 5+ PAE

• Current Practicing Certificate

• Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to identify legal issues

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients

• A passion for social justice and human rights

• Ability to multitask and manage several competing demands;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including:

o interviewing and counselling of clients;

o providing legal advice and information accurately, efficiently, and in a concise and clear manner;

o an ability to work with vulnerable clients and culturally diverse communities;

• A demonstrated application of initiative when dealing with difficult clients and complex legal matters;

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
