The Opportunity
We are seeking a research fellow to join a growing human factors team working to enhance the quality and safety of perioperative care.
Human Factors is a developing area within the department, and our priorities are
Raising awareness and knowledge of Human Factors through educational activities and engaging stakeholders, including clinicians, managers, and policymakers
Conducting research to improve the quality and safety of care and building the research evidence base for the effectiveness of Human Factors, and
implementing human factors approaches in collaboration with our clinical partners to improve the quality and safety of care.
You will contribute to all human factors and patient safety activities, including research, education, and implementation. You’ll play a key role in designing and conducting research projects, engaging with clinical and policy stakeholders, producing high-quality outputs, and supporting student learning.
You will bring:
A doctoral or postgraduate research qualification in a relevant discipline; and/or
Relevant health sector experience, particularly in the areas of Human Factors, patient safety, healthcare quality, and clinical research or systems improvement;
Demonstrated skills in qualitative or mixed methods research, data collection and analysis; and
Knowledge of human factors theory and application in health systems.
