Position Title:

Geology Manager – Yilgarn Iron

About Yilgarn Iron Investments:

TSS is proud to partner with Yilgarn Iron to secure the best talent for the restart and ongoing operations of the recently acquired iron ore assets in the Yilgarn hub.

Yilgarn Iron is a privately owned Australian mining company focused on restarting and responsibly operating a portfolio of historic hematite iron ore assets in Western Australia’s Yilgarn region. The company’s assets include Koolyanobbing, Windarling, Parker Range, and adjacent tenements, all hosted within structurally complex BIF sequences typical of the Southern Cross Greenstone Belt.

About the Role:

Yilgarn is seeking an experienced geology manager to lead all geological activities across its operations.

Reporting to the General Manager—Operations, this role will involve reviewing existing exploration strategies and making recommendations for the most effective approach moving forward.

A key part of the role will be ensuring all exploration complements rehabilitation efforts, shaping landforms to be safe, stable, and non-polluting. This includes managing drainage control, sedimentation traps, ponds, and the encapsulation of potentially polluting materials to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

The Geology Manager will also be formally appointed as the Alternate Senior Site Executive (Alternate SSE) under WA’s Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, acting as the senior site representative in the GM’s absence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the review and reclassification of BIF-hosted hematite resources across multiple deposits.

Oversee resource models, drilling, and mine sequencing.

Manage grade control systems and operational geology support.

Design and execute exploration programs, and implement gravity surveys to enhance resource identification.

Oversee contractor supervision, approvals, and heritage engagement.

Maintain geological data systems, QA/QC processes, and monthly reporting.

Key Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in geology, mining engineering, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in iron ore operations, particularly in BIF-hosted hematite deposits.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing geological teams.

Familiarity with gravity surveys and geological data interpretation.

Manual C-Class WA Driver’s License.

Why Yilgarn?

Lead the restart of a high-potential iron ore mine with industry leaders.

Drive operational excellence, safety, and compliance in a dynamic environment.

Shape the future of Yilgarn, contributing to long-term success and growth.

This is a unique opportunity to work with highly respected industry leaders and be part of the next chapter in the Yilgarn Hub. The role offers flexible rosters (4/3, 5/2, or 8/6), competitive remuneration, and a bonus structure.
