Buildings Maintenance Manager
An experienced Buildings Maintenance Manager is required for the maintenance and supervision of The Moorings, a unique, high-quality residential complex of 46 apartments situated on the banks of the Swan River in North Fremantle.
We seek an energetic, self-motivated person who will be ‘hands on’ and competent in all areas of general, garden, and pool maintenance across the Body Corporate Common Property. The successful applicant will be someone who is personable and at ease in engaging with residents while capable of directing and overseeing contractors and consultants.
The manager reports to the Council of Owners and manages two part-time employees who assist in administration and gardening at the complex.
A competitive package will be provided. The role may suit someone who is recently retired, and a flexible, less-than-full-time contract could be considered.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
General duties include management, maintenance, gardening, and administration
Coordinating and supervising external contractors and skilled tradespersons (external contractors maintain gardens, reticulation systems, lifts, security and fire services, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, etc.).
Carrying out minor maintenance repairs to Common Property areas, such as foyers, pools, garden reticulation, parks, etc.
Liaising with owners and contractors during apartment renovations
Performing caretaking and building duties, preparing Building and Maintenance Reports, and attending Council of Owners meetings
Liaising and working with the Council of Owners, including arranging quotes, payments, and administration
Other relevant duties involved in maintaining and managing the buildings and common property
Managing and reviewing practical preventative maintenance plans
Attending to after-hours emergencies
To apply for this role, you should:
Be experienced in maintenance
Preferably have a relevant trade qualification
Be a proactive, highly organised individual with good verbal and written communication skills and good computer knowledge
Have good managerial abilities and be ‘hands on’ at the same time
