Position Summary
The Grade 3 senior occupational therapist and stream leader is a key member of the occupational therapist leadership team. The person in this role will bring a high level of clinical expertise to support a caseload of patients presenting to rehab with complex spinal, amputation, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions. With a strong focus on multidisciplinary care, they will work closely with the medical, nursing, and other allied health teams to progress patient care and pathways to home or community settings. Along with the clinical responsibilities in this senior role, you will provide leadership and regular clinical supervision to staff and students. You will also contribute to quality improvement activities within the occupational therapy department. Our department provides you with access to regular clinical supervision, opportunities for continued professional development, and being part of a friendly and supportive team.
Qualifications/Registrations Required
Current full registration held with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) or equivalent.
Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership) or equivalent.
Current Victorian Driver’s License (unrestricted).
Post-graduate qualifications (clinical, education or leadership) or working towards the same (desirable)
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum seven years’ clinical experience in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
Extensive clinical experience in and knowledge of patient-centred, occupation-based practice Occupational Therapy in rehabilitation
Ability to lead, supervise and provide professional development and support to staff and students
Evidence of previous involvement in the development and implementation of quality improvement activities
Specialist skills in assessment and management of patients with spinal and muscular injuries (highly desirable)
