The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our Signalling Projects Team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Civil Leading Hand, you will be responsible for operating a variety of mobile plant machines in and around our rail network for the safe installation of signalling civil equipment.
The Role
In this role you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out the civil installation of wayside signalling equipment and mainline pit and pipe across our metro and regional network. The role is offered on a Monday-to-Monday roster, 8 days on, 6 days off, based out of our Midland Depot.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
Ability to operate a range of excavators, backhoes, and skid steers.
Ability to drive tool trucks, tip trucks, and truck-trailer combos.
Adhere to safety regulations, conducting pre-start inspections and maintaining a safe working environment.
Material loading, unloading, and transporting materials using machinery, often in conjunction with manual labor.
Effectively communicating with supervisors and other team members about work progress, issues, or safety concerns.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Demonstrated commitment to the Arc HSE management system.
Experience and certification in the operation and operational maintenance of the above plant (excavator, backhoe, and skid steer).
HR license with the ability to acquire an HC license, endorsed by Arc Infrastructure.
Flexibility to work away from home on a regular basis.
Pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test, and police clearance.
Basic computer skills.
First Aid and CPR certificate.
