About the role

As an Assistant Accountant at San Carlo Homes for the Aged Ltd, you will be a key member of the finance team, providing critical support to the accounting and finance operations. Working in a part-time capacity, you will be based in our South Morang, Victoria, location.

What you'll be doing

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements

Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting

Perform general accounting duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations

Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and systems

Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed

Liaise with internal stakeholders to answer queries and provide financial information

Support the implementation of financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations.

What we're looking for

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance

2-3 years of experience in a similar assistant accountant, preferably in the aged care or healthcare industry

Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards

Proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments

Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
