The Position
To ensure Council’s rating and revenue databases are accurately maintained for the issuing of Council’s rates and charges notices, whilst providing a professional service to all ratepayers of AlburyCity. This is a multi-skilled position and requires job rotation through various tasks in the Revenue section to build and maintain the broad but specialized skill set required.

Qualifications and experience
Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent and/or equivalent relevant experience.
Requires 2+ years’ relevant work experience in a financial environment.
Tasks and responsibilities
Provide a professional customer service function to the council’s internal and external customers.
Issue Section 603 Certificates in a timely manner, respond to requests for balance updates, and reconcile certificates issued with certificate fees received.
Complete the processing of Land Transfer Advices and ensure correct rateability of transferred properties and preparation of input documents to raise all lawful rates and charges generated by property ownership change.
Determine rateability and correctness of rates and charges levied and batch and key input documents into the relevant databases, i.e., sundry debtors, rates, and water.
Ensure that the council’s name and address register is maintained and monitored accurately.
Ensure the integrity of the council’s database by reviewing data regularly.
Review and process pensioner applications for rebates on rates and water.
Implement and strictly follow the Council’s Debt Recovery Policy and Procedures.
Hours
Based on a 35-hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines.
