If you enjoy working with plants and turf, enhancing public green spaces, and contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of our community, we have opportunities available to join our team on a full-time, part-time, or casual basis.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as
Maintain gardens, parks, and other outdoor spaces within the local community.
Carry out winter planting of trees and plants with a team of professional parks staff.
Monitor and control pests and diseases to ensure the health and vitality of plants.
Manage turf including mowing, edging and fertilizing.
Perform regular watering, weeding, pruning, and mulching to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of garden areas.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute seasonal planting and floral displays.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
Assist in the removal of fallen leaves, debris, and other waste from garden areas.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
Skills & Experience Desired
Experience in gardening, landscaping, turf management, or horticulture.
Knowledge of plant species and maintenance techniques.
Proficiency in operating gardening equipment and tools.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of health and safety practices related to gardening.
Certification in horticulture, turf, or park and gardens or a related field is an asset.
