About the Opportunity
Are you looking to kickstart your career in local government in Cowra and obtain a qualification whilst receiving on-the-job training?Then a traineeship with Cowra Council may be the opportunity for you!We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance team as a Trainee - Customer Service Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognized qualification—Certificate III in Business (Customer Engagement).
The Trainee—Customer Service Officer is part of a small team who are the face of our organization; the successful applicant will be passionate about delivering positive face-to-face customer service experiences and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for processing front counter and over-the-phone customer transactions and inquiries using a variety of computer systems as well as liaising across all departments to refer customer service inquiries to the relevant personnel.
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
The ability to follow directions and procedures while showing initiative.
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills with high levels of data entry accuracy and speed.
High resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure.
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Previous experience in processing of credit card payments and cash handling experience (preferred)
