About the Role
Gov Recruit is seeking up to two (2) experienced Senior Systems Analysts to join a Federal Government ICT team delivering a major applications-modernisation and digital uplift program.
This is a high-impact role within a large, complex ICT environment, focused on analysing, designing, and improving critical systems. You will support modernisation initiatives, uplift legacy platforms, and ensure secure, reliable and integrated technology solutions.
The position is based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office, 2 days from home). An active NV1 security clearance is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
The Systems Analyst is a key technical role within the department's ICT environment, responsible for analysing, designing, and implementing reliable and secure ICT systems.
A critical component of this role involves identifying legacy on-premise systems that require modernisation or migration to cloud platforms, ensuring systems meet government policy objectives, security standards and operational requirements.
The Systems Analyst will work across complex technical environments, leveraging modern technology stacks to design solutions that integrate with existing systems and align with the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) standards.
Required Skills and Experience (Essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems analysis.
Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies.
Demonstrated system integration capability.
Proven experience in process improvement and optimisation.
Strong knowledge of compliance and security principles.
Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory).
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Services (Azure).
Data analytics and reporting capability.
Experience with automation and scripting tools.
Understanding of Australian Government digital and security frameworks.
Technical Framework
This role aligns to the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) across Levels 4–7.
