About the Role: Curtin University’s Student Lifecycle and Engagement team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in enhancing the digital student experience through the OASIS Enhancement Project.

In this role, you’ll lead the scoping and analysis of complex change initiatives, engaging with stakeholders across the University to define business requirements, optimise processes, and deliver solutions that improve the student journey. Drawing on your analytical expertise and project management skills, you’ll ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently, strategically aligned, and responsive to the needs of our students and staff.

The OASIS Enhancement Project, launched in 2025, aims to modernise and personalise Curtin’s central student portal. Phase 1 focused on improving navigation, accessibility and usability. Building on this, you will support delivery of Phase 2 (Orientation, Onboarding and Enrolment) and Phase 3 (Personalisation). These initiatives will aim to deliver a modern, accessible and responsive digital hub that enhances engagement, strengthens support for staff, and advances Curtin’s vision to be a student-centred, digitally enabled university.

Your responsibilities will include:

Identify and engage with stakeholders across the University to scope business improvement initiatives that align with strategic objectives and enhance the student experience.

Collaborate with the UX Lead and stakeholders to gather, analyse and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring these are clearly understood by all stakeholders and cross-functional project team members.

Design, evaluate and document best practice business and technical solutions that support improved processes, usability and digital engagement.

Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs with business and technical stakeholders to validate requirements, explore solutions and build shared understanding.

Liaise with stakeholders, the Manager, Technical Leads and team to develop and maintain comprehensive backlogs, ensuring user stories and tasks are clearly defined, prioritised and aligned to project goals.

Partner with internal and external technical teams to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into system solutions and delivered to a high standard.

We are looking for (selection criteria):

Proven experience analysing and documenting detailed functional and technical requirements for complex projects.

Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate and deliver multiple priorities and outcomes within scope, timeframes and a rapidly changing environment.

Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience re-engineering processes and systems to drive improvement.

Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, liaise and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, and produce clear business cases and project documentation.

Demonstrated experience leading and contributing to cross-functional agile teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role Requirements:

As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
