About the role

The Tree Assessment Officer's role is to assist in the implementation of sustainable tree management services and to maintain the Inner West Council’s urban forest as a quality, intergenerational resource, such that the services of Council contribute to the desired community outcomes as outlined in the Community Strategic Plan.

Please note we are recruiting for a part time Tree Assessment Officer however have the scope for the successful candidate to do full time hours.

Remuneration: 86,282.04 to 104,541.32 based on full time hours + 12% Superannuation + Access to a Motor Vehicle Allowance (pro rata for part time) OR the use of an operational pool vehicle

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Relevant Aboricultural qualifications (AQF 5 Diploma Arboriculture)

Experience in undertaking visual tree assessments, report writing and plan interpretation.

Qualifications in an industry recognized tree risk methodology (e.g. QTRA, TRAQ, VALID)

Experience and knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other planning legislation (e.g., SEPP, LEP, DCP) as it relates to tree management and protection

Strong interpersonal communication skills
