MacK1 Locating Services is seeking a highly capable Service Locator/Utility Surveyor who is looking for more than a just another locating role.

This role suits someone who wants responsibility on complex projects, and sees leadership as a progression earned through experience and judgement.

At MacK1, We treat underground locating and utility surveying as a technical and professional discipline, not just a commodity service.

The Role

You will operate as a senior technical resource, performing underground service detection, verification and utility surveying work, including,

Electromagnetic (EM) Locating and GPR interpretation

High-risk and high-accuracy underground investigations

Verification of underground services

Survey-grade subsurface asset mapping

Defensible documentation and metadata capture

GIS-based post-processing

Contribute datasets to subsurface asset records

Training and mentoring of junior locators

You will be trusted to make technical decisions and expected to stand behind them.

About You

You will likely have:

Strong experience (4+ years) as an underground service locator. (CertLoc certified favourable)

Experience using GPS survey capture

High technical judgement and attention to detail

Experience working on complex and constrained sites, often with no existing plans.

Confidence explaining locating methodologies, limitations and decisions.

An interest in leadership, systems and standards.

Tickets and formal qualifications are valued, professional judgement and integrity is essential.

MacK1 Locating Services is the locating and surveying arm of MacKSi, a Subsurface Intelligence company. We sit at the intersection of underground service locating, subsurface asset mapping and spatial data management. We're focused on moving the industry away from disposable drawings and toward auditable, long-lived underground asset records.

All subsurface data we capture is processed through algorithm-driven GIS workflows to validate spatial and metadata integrity before being issued as PDF and CAD deliverables. Hand-drawn reports are not part of our practice.
