Reporting to the Early Childhood Regional Team Leader at Moonee Valley City Council, the Service Coordinator (Centre Director) will provide leadership and manage a team of staff in the delivery of an inclusive and quality early childhood education and care service to meet the needs of children and families in line with the NQF and council values.

This role is responsible for the operational management of a 109 place Early Learning Centre. Working in partnership with children, families and wider community, this role will champion and lead pedagogical development and service delivery in line with Council policy, practice and requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Lead service development and delivery using contemporary, evidence-based programs informed by needs analysis and consultation.

• Ensure compliance with NQS, Council policies, and regulations.

• Maintain staffing ratios and resource requirements.

• Manage enrolments, waiting lists, and utilisation rates.

• Oversee fee collection, invoicing, and receipting.

• Contribute to budgeting and monitor financial performance.

• Prepare and present operational reports and review policies and procedures.

• Manage staff performance and annual reviews.

• Support recruitment, induction, and probation processes.

• Oversee payroll documentation and leave management.

• Build inclusive, collaborative relationships with families and community partners.

• Ensure programs meet diverse needs, including vulnerable and culturally diverse families.

• Drive continuous improvement and reflective practice.

To be successful in this role you’ll have a Degree OR Diploma in Early Childhood Education with strong knowledge of child development and contemporary practices. You’ll have experience in financial management, including budgeting and accurate reporting. Proven leadership, strong communication skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities are essential, along with the ability to oversee day-to-day service delivery and drive continuous improvement.
