The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is seeking an experienced and detail?focused Senior Finance Officer to join our Corporate Services team. This position plays an important role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations and contributing to strong outcomes for Aboriginal communities across Tasmania.

About the Role

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial processing, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and supporting program areas with clear and reliable financial information. Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will provide essential financial support across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Daily bank reconciliations and transaction reviews

Processing card payments and reconciling statements

Assisting with accounts payable

Preparing program and client invoicing and monitoring receivables

Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing depreciation

Preparing journals, prepayments and month?end adjustments

Drafting financial reports for programs, board reporting and grant acquittals

About You

We are looking for someone with:

Qualifications in finance, business, or accounting

At least two years’ experience in a finance or accounting role

Strong accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems effectively

Experience using Wiise, ProSpend, or similar systems

The ability to work cooperatively in a small team

A commitment to Aboriginal self?determination

Remuneration and Benefits

Salary range 99,000 - 124,000 pa + Salary Packaging

16% superannuation
