About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Support Workers who are passionate about supporting people with different abilities and mental health support needs to live fulfilling and independent lives.

You will provide practical, recovery-oriented support to NDIS participants across home environments, Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, and community settings.

Your work will focus on helping participants build independence, develop life skills, and remain actively connected with their community.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Living Support

Assist participants with everyday living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts (as trained), and general household support

Support basic household duties within shared living environments to maintain a safe and organised home

Community Participation

Support participants to attend appointments, community programs, social activities and recreational outings

Provide transport for community access using your own vehicle when required

Supported Living Environments

Work within Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes where applicable

Support structured daily routines within shared homes

Maintain respectful boundaries while promoting independence and wellbeing

Behaviour and Safety Support

Follow individual support plans and behaviour support strategies

Understand restrictive practices and implement them appropriately in accordance with behaviour support plans

Monitor wellbeing, behavioural changes and emerging risks

Documentation and Compliance

Write clear and professional case notes after every shift

Complete incident reports and risk alerts when required

Provide clear written updates and reports for compliance and participant progress

Team Collaboration

Work collaboratively with coordinators, families, guardians and allied health professionals

Participate in team meetings, shift handovers and training sessions

Important Role Requirements

Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the community services, mental health or support sector

Willingness to work rotating rosters including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers

Flexibility to work shorter or longer shifts depending on participant needs

Ability to travel up to 30 minutes between different support locations when required

Understanding of Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments and routines

Ability to complete clear case notes and professional reports for every shift

Understanding of restrictive practices and behaviour support frameworks

Strong commitment to participant wellbeing, dignity and independence

Essential Qualifications and Checks

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Community Services, Mental Health or similar qualification

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)

Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Current National Police Check (within 12 months)

Valid Working with Children Check (VIC)

Current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID011 / HLTAID009)

Full Australian working rights

Valid driver licence and reliable insured vehicle
