We are seeking a confident and commercially strong estimator with at least 4 years of local experience working with property developers, builders, civil contractors, and government clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of winning tenders, strong market knowledge, and the ability to price projects safely, accurately, and competitively.

This role suits someone who understands the Queensland civil market, can build confidence with clients, and knows how to prepare winning submissions without exposing the business to unnecessary risk.

Key responsibilities

Prepare accurate, safe, competitive, and profitable estimates and tender submissions

Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope documents, and contract requirements

Complete detailed quantity take-offs and obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing

Price civil works including earthworks, drainage, pavements, roads, concrete, utilities, and associated infrastructure

Assess risks, methodology, staging, and constructability during tender phase

Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions, qualifications, and supporting documents

Attend tender meetings, site inspections, and client discussions where required

Work closely with management to develop tender strategies that improve win rates

Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, builders, consultants, subcontractors, and government clients

Support smooth handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams

Skills and experience

Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil estimating in Australia

Strong experience pricing projects for property developers, builders, civil contractors, and government clients

Demonstrated track record of winning tenders

Strong understanding of current market rates, construction methodologies, and commercial risk

Ability to prepare pricing that is both safe and highly competitive

Strong confidence in first-principles estimating, subcontractor comparisons, and bid analysis

Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

Proficiency in Excel and estimating/tendering systems

Preferred

Existing strong client relationships within the Queensland civil market

Established network with developers, builders, consultants, subcontractors, and government representatives

Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
