Salary: 113,022 to 136,747 (Plus superannuation)

The Role

The System Performance and Insights team is responsible for monitoring delivery of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Victoria. The team focuses on quantitative analysis that directly connects into public policy around VET.  We undertake research and analysis, contribute to policy development, undertake horizon scanning and provide advice on intergovernmental agreements. The team plays a critical role in supporting the work of the broader Policy and Strategy Branch to ensure that Victorians can access high quality training.

We are seeking a Senior Performance Analyst with a keen interest in policy development and understanding system performance.

Main accountabilities:

Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility.

Initiates research and analysis within an area of expertise consistent with organisational objectives.

Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for discussion and consideration. and will contribute to the development of a set of final options for decision.

Prepares technical reports at an advanced professional level.

Provides specialist professional services or advice.

Manages an area with significant budget, staff responsibilities or strategic importance.

The Team

The position of Senior Performance Analyst forms part of the Policy and Strategy branch, which is sits within and TAFE (SandT) group.

Skills and TAFE (S and T) group focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.

The Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) incorporating the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch and the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch, plays a system leadership and management role for the Victorian TAFE Network (VTN) across Victoria.

The OTCD is primarily responsible for driving change in the way the Victorian TAFE Network responds to government priorities and provides training as a coordinated network, better serving Victorian students, employers and communities.

About You

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Resolves issues through deep understanding/interpretation of existing guidelines. Where guidelines aren't available, analyses ideas available and takes action including in consultation with others to resolve problems.

Interpersonal Skills: Sees things from another's point of view and confirms understanding; Tailors communications according to audience and/or audience preference.

Working Collaboratively: Builds a supportive and cooperative team environment; Engages other teams to share information in order to understand or respond to issues; Supports others in challenging situations.
