About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer (Identity and M365) who is passionate about identity, cloud platforms and making a meaningful impact through technology.
Join our high performing IT team in this newly created and strategically significant role, reporting to the Platform Engineering Manager and working closely with the Cloud team to shape and strengthen Swinburne’s Microsoft 365 and identity platforms.
This role is central to ensuring the stability, security and scalability of the University’s digital environment. You will design, build and optimise Swinburne’s Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Entra ID identity foundation, enabling secure access, high availability and seamless productivity services that support our digital transformation agenda.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Manage and govern Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle management and group governance.
Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) for enterprise applications using SAML and OIDC protocols.
Configure Enterprise Applications and App Registrations, managing permissions and service principals.
Administer and optimise M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
Develop advanced PowerShell scripts and utilise the Microsoft Graph API to automate routine identity and M365 administration tasks to be aligned with DevOps practices.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of cloud governance frameworks, including tagging standards, naming conventions, and resource policies.
Ensure all solutions align with architectural standards and enterprise patterns.
Support the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) by providing identity and productivity platform insights.
Evaluate and adopt emerging M365 features and identity tools to strengthen platform capability and user productivity

Qualifications
Certifications in Microsoft 365 or Identity (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or M365 Administrator Expert).
