About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Development Coordinator to join our Advancement team. In this pivotal role, you will drive philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners ensuring alignment with the University’s priorities for the John Curtin Gallery. You will play a key part in building lasting relationships and delivering impactful outcomes that support the University’s mission to transform lives and communities.

The Development Coordinator will work under the direction of the Head of Advancement Humanities and connect with a number of University-wide stakeholders in jointly creating fundable opportunities that are meaningful to the University and donors.

Role responsibilities: 

Develop a detailed knowledge of the John Curtin Gallery’s strengths, priorities, and community initiatives to identify fundable opportunities.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and philanthropic foundations.

Match donor interests to John Curtin Gallery priorities and develop high-quality, persuasive proposals and cases for support.

Manage the end-to-end fundraising process from identification and cultivation through to solicitation and stewardship.

Collaborate with academic leaders and professional staff to articulate strategic funding needs and opportunities.

Ensure appropriate recognition and reporting of gifts, and that all donor relationships are managed with integrity and care.

Work in partnership with central University advancement colleagues to deliver institution-wide fundraising goals.

Track progress against KPIs and contribute to planning, reporting, and evaluation activities.

Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:

We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Coordinator who can demonstrate: 

Proven experience in donor engagement, fundraising, stakeholder management, or a similar relationship-focused role.

Ability to identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including individuals, corporates, and foundations.

Demonstrated experience developing and executing project plans, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling value propositions and present effectively to varied audiences.

Experience building and managing pipelines or portfolios, with the ability to tailor engagement strategies to individual stakeholders.

High level of organisational skills and attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records within systems

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build strong relationships across an organisation.

Sound judgement and professionalism when managing confidential or sensitive information.

A proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to prioritise activities to achieve outcomes.

Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, appeals, or similar initiatives (desirable).

Role Requirements:

As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered

Ability to work outside of normal office hours as required

This Fixed Term G06 level role attracts a remuneration of 106,094 - 113,913 (G07) pro rata + 17% superannuation
