110k to 115k p.a.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in strengthening the finance function and supporting day?to?day operations across a large, multi?site business.

Client Details

Our client is a large retailer with a national presence.

Description

Manage payroll accounting across multiple entities, including high?volume weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs.

Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and strengthen reconciliation processes.

Oversee lease accounting and support broader month?end activities including journals and variance analysis.

Support statutory compliance, audit preparation, and governance requirements.

Handle operational finance tasks such as EFT uploads, merchant terminal setup, and banking communications.

Partner with finance, payroll, and operational teams across multiple sites to resolve issues and ensure accurate reporting.

Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve controls, and streamline accounting workflows.

Provide hands?on support to relieve pressure on the wider finance team and enable senior team members to focus on tax and governance initiatives.

Profile

CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent commercial experience).

Mid-Tier/Big 4 Backing (Audit or Bus Services) ideal but not requisite

Strong exposure to lease accounting ideal

Open to a first time mover but industry experience preferred

Experience working with high transaction volumes and large datasets.

Strong reconciliation skills and confidence managing complex balance sheet items.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and "crack on"

A humble, team?oriented attitude

Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across finance and operations.
