We are partnering with a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting refugees and migrants to build sustainable livelihoods through small business.
An opportunity now exists for a commercially astute and highly values driven Credit Manager to lead their lending operations. This role combines hands-on credit assessment, portfolio oversight, leadership and strategic input—balancing social impact with responsible lending.
Working closely with a nationally based leadership team, you will oversee the end-to-end lending function whilst continuing to strengthen credit frameworks, reporting and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the end-to-end lending process, including assessment, approval and disbursement of small business loans
Conduct client interviews and assess business viability, cash flow and credit risk
Manage and monitor the loan portfolio, balancing capital deployment with risk exposure
Support clients through repayment challenges and manage arrears in line with policy
Contribute to continuous improvement of credit policies, processes, templates and systems
Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly reporting, including dashboards and portfolio insights
Report to internal governance forums including Credit Committee and FRAC
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure strong, sustainable lending outcomes
Represent the organisation within the community and sector
We are seeking expressions of interest from candidate who demonstrate the following:
Experience in micro-finance, and ideally small business lending (entrepreneurs)
Strong credit and risk experience, with the ability to manage higher-risk portfolios while maintaining responsible lending standards
Demonstrated ability to balance loan capital deployment with client needs and portfolio health
Experience within the not-for-profit, community services or purpose-driven environments highly regarded
Proven leadership capabilities, with experience mentoring a small team
Highly organised with strong analytical and reporting skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
A collaborative and team-oriented approach
