About the Role

Education Support Officer to Food Technology Officer

Permanent Part-Time 25 hours 5 Days per week (8am to 1pm) | 41 weeks per year

We are seeking a Food Technology Officer to join our Secondary Campus (Years 7 to 12). This position provides essential support to teaching staff and students in the delivery of the food technology curriculum and practical lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with teachers to collate and prepare food orders for practical lessons and events.

Set up teacher demonstration areas and assist with practical cooking sessions.

Maintain accurate inventory of stock and coordinate with teaching staff weekly food shopping for classroom requirements.

Rotate and safely store pantry, fridge, and freezer items in line with WHS and food hygiene standards.

Prepare recipe boxes and ensure consumables and equipment are available for lessons.

Receive and check deliveries, rectify discrepancies, and submit invoices to finance.

Wash and maintain tea towels and aprons for practical sessions.

Clean and tidy teaching and storage facilities as required.

Undertake other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience in a commercial or domestic kitchen is advantageous.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance and screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.

Hold current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings.

First Aid Qualification.
