Full time, Ongoing position
Salary range: 113,668 to 131,153 plus superannuation
Up to 15,900 in salary packaging, flexible hybrid work arrangement
About the role
The Data Business Analyst will work with various business areas of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) to help deliver projects and activities which improve our operations and deliver on our strategic goals. This role works closely with a variety of data technical specialists with a focus on supporting improvements in our Data Management and Data Governance through producing documentation and undertaking exploratory analysis.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills – able to think creatively to support VLA program teams with queries, unpack underlying issues, articulate their requirements and work with them to identify, test, and adapt tailored solutions to problems.
Demonstrated data analysis and data visualisation capability using Excel and/or other data analysis tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python or R).
Demonstrated communication and influencing skills to the ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical results clearly and adapt communication approach to audience, including in written work, presentations, workshops, and meetings.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations as required.
Demonstrated coordination and administration skills – able to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make appropriate decisions considering conflicting priorities and needs.
Commitment to working collaboratively with others and actively listening to feedback in delivery of work outputs and in own learning.
Experience in data, business processes, and/or systems modelling or demonstrated interest in learning these skills.
A knowledge of the general business of VLA and a commitment to our vision and values.
