About the Role
As the Strategic Transport Planner, you will:
Improve accessibility and deliver place?based outcomes, particularly within the Chatswood CBD and other key growth precincts.
Work collaboratively across Council teams and with external stakeholders to embed transport outcomes into strategic planning
Deliver safe, efficient and sustainable transport planning across the Willoughby Local Government Area.
Support the delivery of strategic transport projects that align with Council priorities, promoting walking, cycling and public transport through improved connections, infrastructure and safety.
Engage and build relationships with communities, businesses, government agencies and internal teams to inform evidence?based transport decisions.
Provide high?level transport planning advice on planning proposals, rezonings and major developments, ensuring alignment with Council strategies.
What You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Transport Planning or an equivalent discipline, with significant relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience applying transport planning principles including active transport, public transport integration, and travel demand management.
Ability to apply NSW planning frameworks to integrate transport outcomes into strategic land use planning and precinct development.
Analytical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex planning environments to deliver balanced outcomes for movement, place and community.
Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to undertake and interpret transport and traffic data.
Ability to work collaboratively with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Proven problem?solving skills to address complex transport planning challenges.
Exceptional written, verbal and report?writing skills.
Desirable:
Experience in local or state government or similar planning environments.
Knowledge of NSW development control legislation and regulations.
