The Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a highly regarded Australian property and development group in a 12–14 month fixed term contract covering parental leave. This role sits across property development, asset management and corporate finance, and offers great exposure in both group reporting and treasury functions. Working closely with senior finance leadership, this is a highly visible position that will contribute to strengthening reporting outcomes, improving financial discipline, and supporting the evolution of the finance function. The Challenge
Reporting to the GM of Finance and working closely with the Treasury Manager, your key responsibilities will include the following:
Lead group reporting and deliver clear, insightful management reporting, commentary and cash flow analysis
Own the month end process and ensure high quality financial outputs across journals, reconciliations and reporting
Play a key role in group financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation under relevant accounting standards
Support budgeting, forecasting and long range planning across a multi-division group
Contribute to group consolidation and reporting systems helping improve accuracy and efficiency
Partner on treasury and funding activities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis and covenant monitoring
Provide insight into balance sheet performance across debt, cash and key asset positions
Support audit and external reporting processes, acting as a key point of contact for auditors and advisors
Work closely with finance and operational leaders to strengthen reporting quality, insight and decision-making
Contribute to process improvement, automation and uplift of financial systems and controls across the group
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years’ experience in corporate, professional services or group finance environments
Strong technical accounting capability with solid experience in financial reporting and balance sheet control
Exposure to treasury concepts including cash flow, debt facilities and covenant monitoring
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
Experience with consolidation/reporting systems (TM1, Caseware, Sage or similar) advantageous
Property or asset intensive industry experience highly regarded
Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate in a structured, compliance driven environment
Collaborative, reliable and able to build strong stakeholder relationships
