Definition Landscape & Design is seeking a skilled and experienced hands-on Landscape Construction Supervisor to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for oversight and coordination of high-quality structural landscaping projects in Brisbane. With a focus on execution excellence, you will lead a landscape crew to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
About Us: Definition Landscape & Design is a well regarded Brisbane residential landscape company (established 2009). We are curently a team of 12, who look after three sections - design, construction, maintenance. Our work area is inner city Brisbane, with occasional outer Brisbane acreage projects. We are known for our attention to detail, excellent client communication, deep construction understanding, and problem solving capabilty. We are able to complete a broad range of landscape construction work 'in house', with less reliance on subcontractors. We're known to tackle and install challenging gardens where others may not, and have systems in place to ensure this is successful. We have won many industry awards between 2015-2025, including 'Residential Landscape Construction of the Year' in 2022. We're genuinely passionate about what we do - we love creating gardens and transforming our clients outdoor lifestyle!
The Role: As a Landscape Construction Supervisor, you will be the person on the ground bringing amazing outdoor spaces to life! You will work alongside a small, well established team to run projects from start to finish, reporting directly to the company director. Daily activity will include:
Manage a small team to deliver exceptional projects and foster an enjoyable work environment
Read, interpret and implement detailed 2D landscape plans
Plan and coordinate work schedules, materials, equipment and labour to optimise efficiency and productivity
Install structural + soft landscaping to the highest quality: earthworks, electrical provision, drainage, retaining, concrete, fences, paving, decks, pergolas, irrigation, lighting, soils, planting etc.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations
Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving issues that arise
Liase with engineers, certifiers, designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders
Communication with client and management to provide regular progress updates
Mentor and develop the skills of junior team members (hands-on work with your team onsite)
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work site
What we're looking for:
Experience - Min. 4 years+ hands-on landscaping (structural/hardscape, and softscaping)
Leadership - Proven ability to lead a team (you have run jobs before, not just worked on them)
Ethic - Organised, efficient, keen to work hands-on outdoors to progress projects
Attitude - Positive, quality-driven, team oriented; you take pride in your work & finishes
Trade Qualification - Certificate III or IV in Landscape Construction (or strong experience equivalent)
Plan Reading - Ability to read, understand and accurately implement landscape plans
Construction Knowledge - Deep understanding of structural landscape construction - retaining, concrete, decking, fences, paving etc.
Soft Skills - Excellent project management, problem-solving and communication skills
WHS & Environment - Strong commitment to safety and environmental best practice
Standards - Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, regulations and building codes
Licence - Manual Driver Licence + White Card

Remuneration - $90,000-$115,000/year salary + super (based on experience)

Overtime - availablility if you're motivated, up to 10hrs per week!
