TAX ACCOUNTANT (x4 – Casual)

Location: Various | Start: June

Experience Required

Step into a client-facing role where you’ll work closely with a Senior Accountant to deliver effective tax and business solutions. This opportunity is ideal for accountants with hands-on experience preparing returns for individuals, property investors, and small business entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals

Lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS)

Assist in annual financial reporting and taxable payment reporting

Perform payroll and superannuation processing

Conduct account reconciliations and bookkeeping

Prepare payroll tax lodgements

Support tax planning initiatives

Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner

Requirements:

Accounting degree

Minimum 1 year experience in a public accounting firm

Experience in tax returns involving rental properties and small businesses

Solid understanding of financial accounting principles

CPA/CA qualified or actively studying

Experience in BAS and payroll processing

Xero or MYOB experience preferred (not essential)

High attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication skills

Basic Income Tax Course: Understand the fundamentals of Australian taxation

Xero Software Training: Get hands-on practice using one of the most widely used cloud accounting platforms

Case Study Simulations: Apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios so you’re confident and job-ready

From July: On-the-Job Experience

For 12 weeks, you’ll work side-by-side with our experienced accountants on live tax files. You’ll support client work, learn how to communicate with real clients, and gain experience in:

Preparing individual tax returns using Xero

Understanding rental properties, CGT, and basic tax planning

Preparing BAS and performing bookkeeping tasks
