About the Role

Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a proactive and hands-on Property and Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance, land management, and logistics at our Outdoor Education Campus, Marrapatta.

Set on 200 acres in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, approximately two hours north of Brisbane, Marrapatta provides a unique environment supporting immersive outdoor education learning experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Outdoor Education, you will play a key role in ensuring the property is safe, functional, and well-presented, while supporting program delivery and sustainability initiatives.

This is a diverse, practical role suited to someone who thrives in a rural setting, enjoys working outdoors, and values sustainability and education. Optional onsite accommodation may be available.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance across buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds

Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and compliance

Manage contractors and oversee cleaning services

Perform minor repairs and coordinate maintenance works

Contribute to budgeting, reporting and capital works planning

Provide logistical support for outdoor programs (equipment, transport, and setup)

Maintain grounds, including mowing, track upkeep, weed control, and revegetation

Support fire and flood preparedness, as well as sustainability initiatives

Assist with care of animals on property

Respond to occasional after-hours maintenance and property issues

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

At least 5 years’ experience in management of facilities and/or rural property maintenance

Proven ability to manage contractors and build effective working relationships

Experience operating tractors and 4WD vehicles

Strong mechanical aptitude, including maintenance of small engines or equipment

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands

Physically capability to undertake manual work

Knowledge of local vegetation, including weed identification and management

Understanding of relevant legislation, compliance and safety requirements

Experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively

Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office

A current unrestricted manual Queensland driver’s licence

Eligibility to acquire and maintain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
