About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, alcohol, and other drug services across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana regions, supporting a population of more than 250,000 people. Rockhampton is the principal service hub, providing administration of the Mental Health Act 2016 and acute adult inpatient services, alongside an Adult Community Care Unit. Gladstone is home to the Adult Step Up Step Down facility.
The Older Persons Mental Health Community Team (OPMHS) is a specialist multidisciplinary service supporting adults aged 65 years and over experiencing mental illness, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples aged 55 years and over. Services include assessment, case management, therapeutic treatment, consultation, and recovery-focused care across community, home, outpatient, and residential aged care settings.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse delivers quality recovery-based care at an advanced level to older people living in the community who have been diagnosed as having serious mental health conditions.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provides discipline specific case management, early intervention strategies as well as support for carers and families.
Participate as a member of a mental health team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case management, intervention or group work as required.
Liaise and maintain relationships with staff from the CQHHS, Aged Care sector: Nursing Homes and relevant Non-Government Organisations.
About you:
The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate is mandatory for this position.
Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable.
Demonstrated competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with an understanding of recovery focussed Mental Health care.
Demonstrate knowledge of early intervention strategies.

Total remuneration value of up to 11,604 p.m is comprised of:
An hourly rate between 57.48 to 61.55 p.h.
