About the Company
Our client is a specialist organisation supporting food safety, quality and compliance through structured inspections, site-based activities, documentation and stakeholder coordination.

This is an early-career opportunity for someone who wants to build practical, long-term experience in food safety, inspections, compliance and site operations.
Previous food safety inspection experience is not required. Full on-the-job training and ongoing support will be provided.
About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the arrangement and coordination of food safety and product-related inspections
Assisting with site-based inspections in line with client requirements and internal procedures
Travelling regularly to food-related sites, warehouses, storage locations and port environments

Supporting follow-up actions related to inspection findings and compliance requirements
Supporting Japanese-language documentation and communication when required
Following workplace health and safety requirements and internal quality systems
Managing changing schedules in a calm, flexible and professional manner
About You

Have already gained some work experience and are ready to build a more specialised career

Are comfortable driving to different sites and working outside a standard office environment
Can manage time effectively across multiple locations and tasks
Are detail-focused and able to follow procedures carefully
Communicate professionally with different stakeholders
Can handle short-notice changes, waiting time and occasional extended days
Are looking for a long-term opportunity, not just a short-term job
Essential Requirements:
Professional working proficiency in English
Conversational to business-level Japanese
Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Willingness to travel regularly, including interstate travel when required
Ability to work on-site in Melbourne Inner North
Flexibility to manage changing site schedules and operational requirements

Exposure to inspections, audits, structured reporting or compliance documentation
Experience working with clear procedures, standards or quality systems
Interest in food safety, quality assurance, compliance or site operations
Location Melbourne Inner North to This is an on-site role with regular travel to client sites, including food-related facilities, warehouses, storage locations and port environments.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, generally during standard business hours.

Salary 51,000–55,000 + Superannuation
Additional overtime and allowances apply where relevant
This is an early-career training opportunity with structured on-the-job support. While the base salary reflects an early-career role, additional overtime and allowances may apply depending on site schedules, travel requirements, extended hours, weekend/public holiday work, and overnight interstate assignments.
This role is best suited to someone who is looking to develop practical, specialist experience in food safety, compliance and site operations over the long term.
Additional Payments
In addition to the base salary, eligible overtime and allowances may apply depending on operational requirements.
This may include approved overtime, extended site hours, weekend or public holiday work, meal allowances for eligible site-based work, and allowances for overnight interstate assignments.
Further details will be discussed during the interview process.
Why This Role?
This role is well suited to an early-career professional who wants to build practical, real-world experience in food safety, inspections, compliance and operations.
You will gain:

Exposure to real-world food safety and inspection activities
Experience across both site-based and office-based work
