We are open to candidates without management experience who have great attitudes and a willingness to learn, however a general understanding for most elements of farming is required and the goal will be to get to a point where the farm manager has a high level of autonomy.

About The Contract to Farm Manager and Labour

This is a contract to cover the farm management and day-to-day labour required to run the dairy farm operation. The remuneration is built around the total labour required, not just an individual role. We are looking for individual or a couple who are looking to advance their dairy career and lead our operation with quality and integrity in focus. The successful candidate(s) would effectively be running/coordinating all aspects of the dairy farm.

We are seeking an individual or couple who brings:

At least 3 years' experience in dairy farming

Strong skills in milk harvesting, milk quality, herd health, calf rearing and pasture/irrigation management

Ideally farm management and labour management experience.

Basic farm maintenance skills

Ability to operate basic farm machinery including tractors, mowers, hay feeding equipment etc.

Can work independently and lead a team

Motivation to grow and progress in their career

A strong work ethic and positive attitude

A side by side or quad bike to be supplied by the contractor

Applicants must have valid Australian working rights

Our Operation

500 acre farming enterprise comprised of a 220 acre irrigated dairy platform and dry turnout blocks located close to Glengarry township on the Latrobe River.

Holstein herd of 250 cows, additional herds of replacement youngstock.
