Group Therapy Clinician (Mental Health) to Occupational Therapist
Job Summary: Sunshine Clinic Private Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist Grade 2 to join our multidisciplinary allied health team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, recovery-oriented private mental health service delivering evidence-based inpatient and outpatient programs for adults experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health conditions. Our model of care is grounded in trauma-informed, client-centred practice, supporting individuals to build resilience, improve daily functioning, and achieve meaningful recovery outcomes.
As an Occupational Therapist at Sunshine Clinic, you will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers and consumer representatives to provide holistic and client-centred care.
Key responsibilities include: Facilitate evidence-based therapeutic group programs across inpatient and day program settings. Deliver engaging psychoeducation, skills-based, and recovery-oriented group interventions tailored to client needs.
Provide brief 1:1 therapeutic interventions, support sessions, and client reviews as required.
Complete initial client assessments and contribute to individualised treatment planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Monitor client progress, evaluate treatment outcomes, and contribute to ongoing care planning. Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of therapy programs and group content.
Support a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment consistent with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, professional judgement, and evidence-based practice in all client interactions.

You thrive in collaborative team environments and value evidence-based and trauma-informed practice. Experience working within mental health settings and delivering therapeutic group programs will be highly regarded.
Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
Current relevant registration with AHPRA
Demonstrated competence as a clinical practitioner
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrate initiative and creativity in thinking
Willing to contribute to the development and promotion of a cohesive and interactive team
Willing to participate in a continuous quality improvement environment
Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Current Australian driver’s license
Desirable
Experience working in mental health settings
Demonstrated experience in facilitating therapeutic group programs
Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and/or sensory modulation strategies
Additional professional development or training relevant to mental health occupational therapy practice
