Our client is a well-established and growing specialist investment manager operating within the Australian real estate and private credit sector. With a strong track record spanning more than 15 years, the business provides capital solutions to real estate owners and developers while delivering attractive investment opportunities to wholesale and institutional investors.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a key leadership role within the finance team. The successful candidate will provide oversight across both fund finance and corporate accounting activities, leading a small team while ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting, compliance and control processes.

This is a broad and hands-on role offering exposure to complex fund structures, SPVs, corporate entities and strategic finance initiatives. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will play an important role in strengthening processes, developing team capability and supporting the continued growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide senior accounting oversight across fund finance and corporate accounting activities.

Lead, mentor and develop two accounting team members.

Oversee month-end processes, reconciliations, reporting and financial controls.

Review accounting, tax and compliance obligations across funds, SPVs and corporate entities.

Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors and external service providers.

Support management reporting, board reporting and key business decision-making.

Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements and finance transformation initiatives.

Provide business continuity and cross-functional support across the finance function.

About You

You are a CA or CPA qualified accounting professional with experience operating at Manager or Senior Manager level within a complex finance environment or professional practice firm. You bring strong technical accounting capability, experience working across multi-entity structures and a practical understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

You are a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering high-quality outcomes. With strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach, you are comfortable working across multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on accuracy, governance and continuous improvement.
