The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Ore Processing Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily operations within our ore processing plant. Reporting to the Processing Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising processing personnel, optimising plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and achieving production targets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with strong operational and technical knowledge of crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, and associated processing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day ore processing operations.
Lead, mentor, and develop processing operators and shift personnel.
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with site safety systems and procedures.
Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to maximize throughput and recovery.
Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Review and analyse production data, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.
Conduct pre-start meetings, shift handovers, and incident investigations as required.
Maintain accurate production, safety, and operational reports.
Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrated experience in ore processing, mineral processing, or metallurgical operations.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a processing plant environment.
Strong understanding of crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, and filtration processes.
Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and risk management practices.
Ability to interpret plant performance data and drive process improvements.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
Relevant processing, metallurgy, or mining qualifications highly regarded.
