About the role

An established tax practice seeks an experienced Tax Agent to provide tax compliance and advisory services to individuals, families and businesses. You will liaise with the ATO, ASIC and work closely with clients to deliver practical, high?quality outcomes. You will also need to become Director in the company.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and lodge income tax returns, activity statements, and business/trust tax compliance.

Provide tax advice on trusts, companies, SMSFs, estates, property transactions and conveyancing matters.

Liaise with the ATO; manage audits, objections and private rulings.

Review and advise on tax implications of settlements and estate distributions.

Assist with tax planning, structuring and cash flow/tax forecasting.

Supervise/mentor junior accountants or paralegals and ensure file compliance.

Maintain up?to?date knowledge of tax law and present CPD/client briefings as required.

Essential criteria

Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

Member of CPA Australia or Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Minimum 3–5 years post?qualification experience in tax compliance and advisory.

Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law (trusts, companies, SMSFs, CGT).

Proven experience in ATO liaison and dispute management.

Excellent communication, client management and report?writing skills.

Proficient in Xero, MYOB and Microsoft 365; strong attention to detail and time management.
