Our client, a large Government Department, is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join them for contract until 30 June 2027. You will be responsible for applying your specialist skills to assist in the development and management of key projects. In this capacity, the role is responsible for scheduling, managing, documenting and delivering projects of work, as well as being responsible and accountable for managing key stakeholder relationships, project quality, change control and risk management processes.
In this role you will perform the following tasks but not limited to:
Lead the delivery of complex, high-risk ICT projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks and resources to achieve successful outcomes.
Manage multiple concurrent projects while producing high-quality project documentation, including project plans, implementation plans, schedules and transition plans.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, facilitating workshops, presentations and executive reporting across business and technical teams.
Lead multidisciplinary teams, providing strategic planning, governance, mentoring and effective management of project risks, issues and change.
Ensure all project deliverables are completed to a high standard, on time and in accordance with departmental methodologies, governance and record-keeping requirements.
To be successful, you must have the following skills / experiences:
Demonstrated experience managing complex ICT projects, including scope, requirements, prioritisation and successful project delivery.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-value, high-risk projects in fast-paced environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across business and technical teams.
Strong planning, organisational and governance skills, with experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines and business outcomes.
At least 3 years’ Project Management experience in medium to large organisations. Experience with web content translation services and executive reporting is highly regarded.
Baseline clearance or ability to obtain one.
You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply. This is a Canberra-based role. Successful applicants will be required to work full-time onsite for the first three months (or until familiar with the department’s ICT landscape), after which hybrid arrangements may be considered. Ongoing onsite attendance of at least three days per week is required. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply.
