About The Role: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a dotted reporting line to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to deliver accurate financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and strengthen financial governance across YNL.

This is a key hands-on role working closely with the COO in Roebourne and the CFO based in Perth, providing practical financial insight, tax and statutory compliance support, management reporting, grant acquittal assistance and timely advice to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Located residentially in either Karratha or Roebourne, you will be close to the work, the people and the communities YNL serves, supporting a growing organisation with strong governance and clear direction.

Key responsibilities include: Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements, providing clear commentary on performance, trends, risks and opportunities

Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial modelling and scenario analysis

Monitor budget performance, identify variances and flag emerging financial risks

Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and other statutory returns, and support GST, FBT, payroll tax and related compliance

Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, reconciliations and supporting financial records

Maintain audit-ready records and support strong financial controls, governance, delegations and approval workflows

Provide practical financial advice and decision support to the COO, CFO and operational leaders

Track restricted funding and grant expenditure, prepare acquittal reports and support audit and funding requirements

Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, reporting, reconciliations, systems and data quality

About You

You are a capable, practical and culturally aware finance professional with strong technical accounting capability, sound judgement and a service-focused approach. You are confident across reporting, budgeting, compliance and business partnering, and understand the importance of clear financial information in supporting informed decisions.

You will bring:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CPA or CA qualification completed or in progress

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management accounting, finance or similar role

Strong knowledge of tax, statutory compliance and financial reporting obligations

Experience preparing financial reports, management packs, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis

Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems and data

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Experience with grant funding, restricted funds or acquittal reporting will be highly regarded

Understanding of governance frameworks, internal controls and audit-ready record keeping

Experience supporting non-financial managers to understand budgets, expenditure trends, cost controls and reporting requirements

Experience working with Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal organisations or community-controlled settings, with demonstrated cultural awareness, respect and sensitivity

Full Australian Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a current Police Clearance
