We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for our Melbourne based client, for an initial 6-month contract. This role is focused on enabling safe and scalable AI adoption across a large enterprise environment. You will join a dedicated cyber resilience initiative, working at the intersection of cyber security, data, and AI delivery to implement critical project.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a forward-looking AI security program, helping shape how AI tools are deployed and governed in a complex environment.

This is a strong fit for a Security Engineer who enjoys translating emerging risk into practical controls and wants to be embedded in a high-impact program with real visibility.

This is: what you’ll do

Deliver AI security control implementation from backlog through to verified deployment

Design and implement security controls across data, identity, endpoint, cloud and application domains

Assess AI use cases, agents and integrations for security risk and define appropriate controls

Develop and implement security policies and technical configurations for AI tools and environments

Apply secure-by-design and Dev Sec Ops practices to AI and agent-based solutions

Monitor AI environments for risks, control gaps and emerging threats

Maintain and prioritise the AI security control register

Collaborate with cyber, data and digital teams to embed security into delivery

This is: what you’ll need

Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer in enterprise environments

Strong background in designing, implementing and validating security controls

Experience across identity, data protection, endpoint, cloud and application security

Solid understanding of secure development practices and Dev Sec Ops principles

Working knowledge of AI security risks including agents, prompt injection and data exposure

Ability to assess risk and translate into practical, implementable solutions

Experience working with prioritized backlogs and delivering consistently

Strong communication and documentation skills

Self-driven and reliable with the ability to deliver independently
