Job Title: Baker to Pies and Creamery Specialist

Location: Somerset, Tasmania

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and passionate Baker with strong expertise in pie-making and creamery products (ice cream, custards, dairy-based desserts) to join our team in Somerset, Tasmania. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality ingredients, consistent technique, and creating products customers love.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of pies (sweet and savory) from scratch, including pastry, fillings, and finishing

Produce creamery items such as ice cream, custards, and related dairy-based products

Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation

Manage stock rotation, ingredient ordering, and kitchen cleanliness

Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Develop or refine recipes and seasonal specials where appropriate

Work collaboratively with the kitchen/front-of-house team to meet daily production targets

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or similar role, with specific strength in pies and creamery/dairy products

Strong pastry fundamentals (dough, lamination, blind baking, etc.)

Understanding of dairy-based dessert preparation and food safety requirements

Reliable, organized, and able to work early morning shifts

A genuine passion for baking and attention to detail

Relevant certifications (e.g., food safety handling) are a plus
