Senior NDIS Support Coordinator to Remote Work Anywhere in Australia

Wellspace Australia is seeking established Senior Support Coordinators with substantial experience independently managing highly complex participant matters requiring advanced, Level 3-equivalent coordination capability, whether delivered through Support Coordination or Specialist Support Coordination funding.

This role is for highly experienced practitioners who are already operating at a senior level. You will independently lead complex participant matters, manage multidisciplinary stakeholder environments and contribute beyond your own caseload by mentoring, training and supporting the development of other Support Coordinators.

Wellspace Australia is a national registered NDIS provider specialising exclusively in Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching. We support more than 1,100 participants nationally through a fully remote model backed by strong systems, governance and experienced leadership.

About the Role

As a Senior Support Coordinator, you will manage a complex participant caseload across Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching where required.

You will be expected to confidently lead participant matters involving multiple services, significant risk, competing priorities and complex stakeholder relationships.

A significant part of the role will also involve acting as an advanced-practice resource across the organisation. You will mentor and support newer and developing coordinators, work alongside them on participant matters and help build their capability until they can manage the work with greater independence.

The role includes:

Managing highly complex and high-risk participant situations;

Delivering Level 2 Support Coordination, Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching where required;

Supporting participants experiencing psychosocial disability, safeguarding concerns, housing instability, homelessness, justice involvement and complex transitions;

Leading multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement across disability, health, hospitals, housing, justice, mental health, government and community services;

Managing crisis situations, safeguarding matters, service breakdowns and complex participant transitions;

Building and maintaining trusted relationships with key external stakeholders;

Acting as a reliable senior point of contact for complex participant matters;

Providing mentoring, case consultation and practical guidance to developing Support Coordinators;

Working alongside newer coordinators during complex participant matters until they have developed the capability to manage them more independently;

Supporting documentation, reporting, risk management, safeguarding and professional practice standards;

Facilitating case discussions, reflective practice and internal learning activities;

Contributing to the development and delivery of training across the organisation;

Supporting onboarding, recruitment activities and candidate interviews where required;

Contributing to stakeholder engagement, networking, referral pathways and organisational growth; and

Supporting quality, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking established senior practitioners with substantial demonstrated experience delivering complex Specialist Support Coordination.

Applicants must already be capable of independently leading complex participant matters involving multiple service systems, significant risk and challenging stakeholder environments.

You will demonstrate:

Several years of direct experience delivering Support Coordination, including substantial Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination experience;

Advanced experience supporting participants with multiple and intersecting needs;

Strong capability across psychosocial disability, safeguarding, crisis response, justice, housing, homelessness and hospital or service transitions;

The ability to lead complex multidisciplinary stakeholder teams and maintain clear communication, coordination and accountability;

Strong professional relationships and credibility across relevant government, health, justice, housing, mental health and community-service systems;

Advanced advocacy, negotiation, systems-navigation and problem-solving skills;

The confidence to act as a trusted senior resource for participants, families, providers, colleagues and external stakeholders;

Strong professional judgement and the ability to independently manage risk, competing priorities and complex decision-making;

High standards of documentation, reporting, compliance, ethical practice and professional accountability;

Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, onboarding or developing less experienced practitioners;

A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and strengthening the capability of others;

The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a national remote environment; and

A proactive approach to professional networking, stakeholder relationships and referral growth.

Strong experience across Level 2 Support Coordination is essential. Experience across both Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching will be highly regarded.

Senior Practice and Broader Organisational Contribution

This position sits between frontline Support Coordination and formal leadership.

It does not currently include direct people management or formal performance-management responsibilities. However, it provides an opportunity to contribute across mentoring, onboarding, recruitment, training, complex practice support, stakeholder engagement and workforce capability development.

The role may suit an established senior practitioner who is interested in progressing into a Team Leader, Manager or other formal leadership position in the future. Any future opportunities will depend on organisational needs, position availability, performance and individual suitability and cannot be guaranteed.

Essential Requirements

Relevant qualification in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or a related field;

Substantial direct experience in Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination and or Psychosocial Recovery Coaching;

NDIS Worker Screening Check;

Working with Children Check;

Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module;

Current driver’s licence;

Willingness to travel where operationally required.

Important Information

All Wellspace team members commence without an established participant caseload.

While Wellspace receives referrals and may allocate participants, successful applicants must also be proactive in developing professional networks, strengthening stakeholder relationships, generating referral opportunities and progressively building a sustainable caseload.

This is not an entry-level or developmental Support Coordination position. Applicants must already possess the experience, professional judgement and advanced-practice capability required to manage highly complex matters and support the development of other coordinators.
