About the Role

This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced team providing high-quality taxation, accounting and business advisory services.

You'll enjoy a varied workload, work closely with a diverse range of businesses and individuals, and become a trusted adviser to your clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, self-managed superannuation funds and individuals

Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS

Assisting clients with tax planning strategies

Providing business, taxation and accounting advice

Liaising directly with clients and the Australian Taxation Office

Managing your own client portfolio and workflow

Maintaining accurate, complete and well-documented working papers

Reviewing your work to ensure a consistently high level of accuracy before submission

Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes

Meeting compliance deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards

About You

Essential

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline

Minimum 2 years' recent Australian public practice experience

Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and taxation returns from commencement through to completion

Strong understanding of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements

Experience preparing returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, self-managed superannuation funds and individuals

Ability to independently manage a portfolio of clients

Excellent communication skills with confidence liaising directly with clients and the Australian Taxation Office

Strong organisational and time management skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work

Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment

Desirable

CA / CPA or IPA qualified (or currently studying)

Experience with HandiSoft (Access) along with Xero and MYOB

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced public practice accountant who is confident managing taxation and compliance work independently looking for an immediate start.

You'll receive support as you become familiar with our clients, systems and internal processes; however, you'll already have the technical knowledge and practical experience to confidently prepare financial statements, taxation returns and compliance work to a high standard with minimal day-to-day technical supervision.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, values accuracy and professionalism, enjoys building strong client relationships, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
