This is a unique opportunity — We are introducing a new Assistant Director/Educator role to strengthen our leadership team and ensure continuity across the week. This position offers a balance of three days teaching and two days in leadership, supporting high quality practice, guiding our educators, and leading the service on days the Director is not on site.

This role will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment where they can forge meaningful relationships with the children, their families, and the community. It will allow you to combine your experience as a qualified educator with the opportunity to step confidently into leadership.

St Peters Community Preschool is a small (27-place), not for profit, community based preschool situated in Sydney’s Inner West. We are an Exceeding-rated centre with high ratios and are well-resourced, with a wonderful team of educators and a supportive parent committee. We take pride in our lush, green outdoor space, where the native bees, frogs, worms and resident possum(s) live harmoniously on Gadigal land.

This is a full-time (5 days per week) permanent role, offering above-award wages, an Assistant Director allowance, and paid school holidays. You must hold all required early childhood qualifications, have a strong knowledge of the NQF, EYLF and regulatory requirements, be committed to the safety and well-being of all children, and work collaboratively as part of the team with a commitment to reflective practice.

As the role is new to this service and will be significant in a transition period, you must also have a minimum of five years’ experience in an early childhood setting and demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication skills.
