The Role: We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sri Lankan Cuisine Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of authentic Sri Lankan culinary traditions, including traditional cooking methods, regional flavours, ingredients, and food presentation.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing an authentic Sri Lankan menu that showcases the rich diversity of the country's cuisine while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety.

This position requires flexibility to work across our two restaurant locations in Mount Waverley and Pakenham, with shifts scheduled according to the roster.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook authentic Sri Lankan dishes including rice and curry, kottu, hoppers, string hoppers, sambols, and traditional sweets.

Design and update menus to reflect seasonal availability and customer feedback.

Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness.

Train and supervise junior kitchen staff where necessary.

Source or suggest authentic Sri Lankan ingredients and suppliers.

Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a chef specialising in Sri Lankan cuisine.

Strong understanding of Sri Lankan dishes and ingredients.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Relevant culinary qualification preferred but not mandatory.

English proficiency.
