Why this role matters

As Senior Manager, Compliance Advisory, you'll lead our second-line advisory function, providing oversight and guidance across mortgage distribution, lending, product development, disclosure, marketing, regulatory change and breach management.

You'll play a critical role in helping the Bank identify and manage compliance risks while supporting business growth, strategic initiatives and positive member outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex regulatory challenges, influencing decision-makers and developing teams, rather than simply interpreting legislation.

What you'll be doing

Leading and developing a team of Compliance Advisory specialists.

Acting as a trusted adviser to senior leaders across the Bank on compliance obligations, risk and regulatory change.

Providing oversight and advice across lending, mortgage distribution, broker and direct channels, product governance and customer communications.

Supporting new products, strategic initiatives, campaigns and business change programs by identifying compliance risks and practical solutions.

Assessing regulatory developments and helping the business implement effective and proportionate responses.

Providing constructive challenge on incidents, issues and potential breaches, including breach assessments, remediation activities and regulatory reporting.

Preparing high-quality executive briefings, governance papers and compliance advice.

Strengthening compliance capability and fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the organisation.

What you'll bring to be successful in this role, you'll have:

Significant compliance advisory experience within banking, lending, mortgage distribution or another highly regulated financial services environment.

Strong expertise across mortgage lending, broker and direct channels, credit products and distribution obligations.

Experience advising on regulatory change, customer journeys, marketing and disclosure, product governance, sales practices and compliance incidents.

A strong understanding of Australian regulatory requirements including consumer protection, credit and financial services obligations.

Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions in complex environments.

Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
