Customer Service

Aged Care

Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving problems in real time and gets genuine satisfaction from keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes?

Mayflower Brighton is looking for a sharp, capable and energetic Rostering Officer to join our newly formed Customer Services team. Rostering is a technical, fast-moving function that requires quick thinking, excellent judgement and good common sense. If you've got it, this role will suit you perfectly.

Working at Mayflower

At Mayflower, we believe that needing support shouldn't limit a person's quality of life.

As a not-for-profit aged care provider with more than 60 years of experience, we are committed to delivering Care without Compromise. Our Brighton facility is home to a dedicated team of people— and we are building something new. A dynamic, professional Customer Services team with clear career pathways, real development opportunities and a genuine investment in the people who are part of it.

About the Role

Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, the Rostering Officer is an important part of the backbone of the Brighton facility. You will be responsible for building and maintaining accurate, compliant staff rosters that ensure our residents receive the right care, at the right time, from the right people — every single shift, every single day.

This is a fast paced, problem solving role. Rostering in aged care can be complex — you are balancing mandatory care minute requirements, staff availability, leave, qualifications, skill mix and last-minute changes all at once, often under time pressure. You will need to think fast, communicate clearly and stay calm when things change suddenly. And they will. There is plenty of support to get you up and running, the opportunity to learn our system and the path to become a skilled, technical rostering person.

What Makes a Great Rostering Officer?

You think fast and stay calm under pressure — when a shift falls vacant, you don't panic, you problem-solve

You are incredibly organised and detail-oriented — one error in a roster can have real consequences for residents and staff

You have strong common sense — you can read a situation, make a sound call and know when to escalate

You communicate confidently and professionally — you'll be dealing with care staff, managers and employees all day

You are adaptable — no two days are the same and you need to be able to shift priorities at a moment's notice

You enjoy the satisfaction of a problem solved — filling a difficult shift, balancing a complex week, getting it right
